Hello all,
I was a member of a synth-rock band called RELAY. We were active in the early 90s and played pretty frequently. Lone Star, Shadow, Hurricane, Fog's Court, NRG, the Cave (?), Music Box, Bottleneck. There were others, I think. My memory fails me as I get older.
We also "opened" for Duran Duran and Terence Trent D'arby at Sandstone....a gig that ended up with us having to bring our own PA and play at the snack bar before the show and between the bands. Oh, fame is a harsh mistress.
We released one CD, "Victims of Group Think" on our own label, Diatribe Worldwide. Reviews were good overall; the Pitch compared us to Roxy Music, which we loved.
I have some flyers, photos and a cassette recording from our appearance on a local station (don't remember which) to promote a Safe Sex benefit show for an organization called The Condom Crusaders. I *may* have a mangled t-shirt from that event.
It may be some time before I can get these materials in here - didn't know this existed until today - but I'd love to know if anyone even vaguely remembers us. |
